To ensure dignified housing for the poor, the Telangana government has planned to provide financial assistance to four lakh plot owners from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The aid of Rs 3 lakh to each plot owner is to help them build 2 BHK pucca houses on their land.

 The State announced in its budget that it would provide financial assistance to four lakh plot owners from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) to construct a 2 BHK pucca house. Each beneficiary will receive Rs 3 lakh.

The authority has decided to select 3,000 beneficiaries from each Assembly constituency. Also, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) will have the overall power to allot 3,57,000 beneficiaries, while Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will allocate the remaining 43,000 under exceptional circumstances. These will be for people who have been displaced due to the construction of new projects or affected by natural calamities.
